Silvermines is a historic mining village located in North Tipperary where lead, zinc, copper,sulphide and barities have been mined in the area since Roman times. Active mining ceased in 1993. Ideally located for your getaway break where it is renowned for its walks and trails and it is just one hour from Shannon Airport, 5 minutes from the M7 motorway, 6 miles from Nenagh Market Town and 8 miles from Ballina/Killaloe and the shores of Lough Derg.
